The Six Stages

  1. You complete one request. Amount, purpose, income, employment, contact details and banking information. A few minutes, no fee.
  2. The request reaches the partner network. Partners whose criteria match your profile evaluate it. This happens in seconds.
  3. Partners respond with offers. Each states an amount, an APR, a term, a monthly payment and any origination fee. Most begin with a soft credit pull.
  4. You compare. Multiply each monthly payment by its number of months to get the total repaid, and check the amount that will actually land in your account.
  5. You accept one, or none. Declining everything costs nothing. If you proceed, the partner typically runs a hard inquiry and sends an agreement.
  6. Verification and funding. Identity, income and bank details are confirmed, then a deposit is initiated — commonly one to three business days after final approval.

Kapitus appears nowhere in that table beyond operating the form. That is not modesty — it is the accurate description of a comparison service.

Where Delays Come From

Almost all of them are verification rather than underwriting.

  • Details that do not match. A name or address entered differently from your ID or credit file triggers manual review.
  • Bank numbers typed from memory. One wrong digit costs days.
  • An unanswered phone. Several partners confirm by phone before funding.
  • Documents not supplied same-day. The largest factor within your control.
  • Friday evening submissions. Verification and settlement both run on business days.

What It Costs You

Nothing, at any stage. Submitting is free, receiving offers is free, and declining every offer is free. You are never billed by Kapitus Funding for anything. The only money that ever changes hands is between you and the lending partner you choose, under an agreement you sign.

A Realistic Timeline

WhenWhat happens
Minute 0Request submitted; transmitted to matching partners
Minutes to hoursPartners evaluate; most perform a soft credit pull
Same dayOffers arrive by phone, email or both
Same or next dayYou compare and accept one; hard inquiry typically occurs here
1–2 business daysIdentity, income and bank verification
1–3 business daysDeposit initiated and cleared by your bank

A request completed on a Tuesday morning with clean details commonly funds by Thursday or Friday. The same request submitted on a Friday evening usually funds the following Wednesday, because verification and settlement both run on business days.

What to Expect After Submitting

Expect contact, and expect some volume of it. Partners deliver offers by calling and emailing, so several may reach out within the first day. This is the mechanism working rather than a fault, but it is the most common piece of feedback we receive and it is easier to handle when anticipated.

Answer the calls. Several partners confirm details by phone before funding, and an unreachable number is one of the most common causes of a Kapitus funding request stalling entirely. If the timing is inconvenient, say so and arrange a callback rather than letting it ring out.

You are not obliged to engage with every partner that responds. Comparing three offers properly beats fielding six calls badly. Take the details, end the call, and decide afterwards with the figures written down.

Comparing the Offers You Receive

Write each offer on one line with four columns: amount deposited after any fee, APR, term, and monthly payment. Then add a fifth column — monthly payment multiplied by number of months — and compare on that.

The reason this matters is that offers routinely differ on more than one variable at once, which makes them incomparable by inspection. A lower rate over a longer term with an origination fee can easily cost more than a higher rate over a shorter term with none, and no amount of looking at the two quotes side by side will reveal that without the arithmetic.

Once the totals are visible, apply the second test: could you make each payment in your worst month of the last two years? Choose the shortest term that passes. Our calculator will run these figures if you would rather not do it by hand.

The Handover Point

There is a single moment in this process where responsibility changes hands, and identifying it prevents most of the confusion that follows. It is the transmission of your Kapitus funding request to the partner network. Before it, everything is Kapitus. After it, everything is the lending partner.

That is why funding times, rate quotes, verification requests and repayment terms all come from a company whose name is not on this website — and why Kapitus Funding servicing questions cannot be resolved here no matter how reasonably they are asked.

The practical advice is to note which partner you accepted an offer from, because that name is the one you will need for the next two years.

The one thing worth writing down at the end of this process is which Kapitus lending partner you accepted. That name is the one you will need for every Kapitus servicing question over the life of the loan, and Kapitus cannot answer any of them on the partner's behalf. Everything before that handover is a Kapitus funding request; everything after it is a contract with someone else.
